Comprehensive Customs Law Agenda

My legal counsel covers the entire spectrum of importer and exporter needs, focusing on the strategic setup of processes. My services include, in particular:

• Representation in proceedings. I represent clients in administrative proceedings before the Financial Administration authorities, as well as in subsequent dispute proceedings within the administrative judiciary.
• Customs permits and statuses. I assist in obtaining permits under the Union Customs Code for simplified procedures, such as self-assessment or entry in the declarant's records, and in applications for Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status in both categories.
• Professional analyses and compliance. I prepare analyses regarding the compliance of commercial operations with European customs law, focusing on controversial issues of customs classification, the determination of the origin of goods, customs valuation, and the customs regimes under which the goods are to be released.
• Defense in customs infringement proceedings. I actively protect the procedural rights of clients in customs infringement proceedings, other administrative offenses, and post-release inspections.

Enforcement of intellectual property rights by customs authorities

A significant part of my specialization is the protection of intangible rights during importation and on the domestic market, such as in warehouses and marketplaces. I have focused on this topic for a long time and am the author of the first and only professional commentary on the Act on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights by Customs Authorities in Slovakia.

In this area, I primarily provide:

• Filing applications for measures to be taken regarding goods under customs supervision or on the domestic market.
• Representing rights holders in enforcing their rights throughout the proceedings.
• Legal defense for holders of goods in cases of unjustified or illegal seizure.

Checking “eKasa” rules and the legality of inspector procedures

In proceedings before the Financial Administration, I also provide legal assistance regarding inspections of electronic cash registers (eKasa). I focus on the compliance of inspectors with legal procedures and the defense of entrepreneurs in administrative proceedings concerning the imposition of fines or other sanctions related to the operation of cash registers and the issuance of cash documents.
